    Know all men by these presents, that I Samantha Anderson for and in consideration as herein after set forth have this day given to John Tippen and Nancy Tippen - his wife, my three children names as follows: John. Mary and William and I hereby agree that the said John Tippen and wife shall have full control and management of said children as if they were their own, and to adopt them as their own if they see fit. Now the consideration of said gift is that the said John Tippen and wife agrees to take care of said children as they should be, and to see that they are properly brought up, and they agree to treat them as their own children, and also I not being able to take care of said children as they should will turn them over to the said John and Nancy Tippen that they may be properly cared for.

    Know all men by these presents, that I Nancy Tippen surviving widow of John Tippen deceased, and resident of said county and state, having no children or child of my own and being affectionately attached to Mary Ann, William and Rebecca Anderson and John Anderson, children of Samantha Anderson, also of said county and state, and alsining? to adopt said children of the said Samantha Anderson as my legal heirs, as it was the intention of my said husband John Tippen dead to have done for himself and jointly with myself adopting them as such, do therefore in accordance with the statute of said state in such case made and provided, here by this solemn act of writing for myself deliberately and firmly adopt the said Mary Ann Anderson, William Anderson and Rebecca Anderson and John Anderson as my true and lawful heirs and giving to them the name of myself and said deceased husband, to wit: Mary Ann Tippen, William Tippen, and Rebecca Tippen and John Tippen to have and to enjoy the right to assert all the rights, benefits, and privileges of legal heirs of myself both in love and equity, as fully, truly and perfectly in every respect, as if they were my own children and born unto my said deceased husband and myself during our marriage
